PENCILS IN THE CENTRE or ROUND ROBIN- COOPERATIVE LEARNING STRUCTURE

Round Robin or Pencils in the Centre is very useful for knowledgebuilding  in which students interact with each other to review contents they have learned before. In their teams, they take turns to read some questions and answer them orally.  In this time, it´s time to listen and speak, so they put their pencils in the middle of the table. They can´t write the answer in their worksheets. Once they have finished talking and everyone knows what they have to do, it´s time to hold their pencils and start writing. Now, it´s time to write and they can not talk to their classmates.
In this session and as you can see in the pictures, they were asked to complete 4 tasks and an extra one. To do each task they had 4 minutes to read and discuss it in their team. Then, they had 3 minutes more to write individually their answer in their worksheets.

They enjoyed this activity a lot!!!
But what was your favourite task?
